Why has the Summer Ball moved to campus?
After the Summer Ball 2011 we asked students what they wanted from their Ball. You told us that the most important aspects of the Ball were:
- Ticket price
- Overall line up
You told us that the least important aspect of your Summer Ball was the location. By bringing Summer Ball to campus we’re able to reduce the ticket price, reduce the price of drinks and focus more attention on the line-up and additional elements to make your end of year Ball the best it can be.
What time should I arrive at the Summer Ball?
The Summer Ball starts at 9:00pm and will finish at 6:00am.
Can my friend, a non-student, attend the Summer Ball?
Yes, students can bring non-students as guests.
Can I attend as a post-graduate/ mature/ part-time/ first year student?
Yes, the ball is open to all students!
Can I attend if I go to a university outside of Leeds?
Yes, students from all over the country are welcome to attend.
Are there any age restrictions?
Yes, this is an over-18 event only.
Do you make provisions for wheelchair users?
Yes, the Summer Ball is accessible for wheelchair users.
Is there a dress code?
The Summer Ball is a black tie event – it’s your ball so get dressed up!
Do I need to bring my student card to the Ball for verification?
No, you do not need to bring your student card with you to gain entry to the ball, just your Summer Ball ticket. Leeds University Union and Leeds Summer Ball operate a Check 21 policy so you may be asked for proof of age when buying alcohol at the bar.
What happens to lost property?
Any lost property will be handed in at the at the main Union Helpdesk and will be available from the following day. Lost property is only held for three weeks so please make sure you come and collect before you leave for the summer.
